Jyotishmati Tailam extracted by Cold press process from Seeds of Celastrus paniculatus, is used to treat Neurological disorders (Cerebral strokes, Neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s,Parkinson’s), Psychiatric disorders & Skin disorders.

In Ayurvedic references, it is mainly indicated in Medhya, Kaphaja Unmada & Kushta.

Actions of Jyotishmati Tailam:

• • • Celastrus paniculatus seed oil produces a significant antidepressant-like effect through interaction with Dopamine, Serotonergic, and GABA receptors.
    • Reduces the plasma corticosterone levels to prevent pathological damage to the hippocampal neurons which results in Depression.
    • Inhibits MAO-A activity, and decreases the metabolism of monoamines like serotonin, dopamine, and noradrenaline which contribute to its antidepressant-like activity.
    • β-sitosterol in Jyotishmati Taila shows anxiolytic, antinociceptive, and tranquilizing effects.
    • Anti-depressant activity by decreasing the levels of GABA, Monoamines and Malkanguniol exhibits anti-convulsant activity.
