Sukumara Ghrita Saptavarti is a polyherbal Ayurvedic formulation useful in treating Gastritis, Acid Peptic disease, Abdominal Tumours, Abdominal Colic, Constipation, and Gynaecological disorders (PCOD, Menstrual Disorders, PMS), etc,

In Ayurvedic classical texts, Sukumara Ghrita is indicated in Vibandha, Udara Roga, Gulma, Yoniroga, Arshas, Vriddhi, and Vata vyadhi.

Actions of Sukumara Ghrita Saptavarti:

• • • Punarnavine, Boeravinones compete with [(3)H]-estradiol for binding to Estrogen receptors, and reduces mRNA expression of pS2 to normalize Estrogen levels.
    • Boeravinones A-O, Asparagamine A, & Diosgenin have cytotoxic & antiproliferative effects on various cell lines to dissolve Cysts &Tumours.
    • Punarnavine suppresses the expression of MMP-2, MMP-9, and VEGF to resolve Tumours, Cysts.
    • Boeravinone E exhibits a significant spasmolytic activity through a direct effect on the smooth muscle thus relieves the Abdominal Colic of various causes, and pain in Dysmenorrhea.
    • Punarnavoside exerts Antifibrinolytic action and reduces the duration and iron loss in excess Menstrual flow.
    • Sarasasapogenin, Asparagamine A antagonizes Oxytocin, and Saponin glycoside A4 blocks Pitocin induced contraction and spontaneous motility and relieves Dysmenorrhea.
    • Withanoloids, Shatavarins, decrease Cortisol level, & ensures the normal function of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal axis which provides pain relief in Dysmenorrhea.
    • Glycyrrhetenic acid inhibits the secretion of Gastrin, Glabridin, Licochalcone and exerts Anti-Microbial activity against H. Pylori healing Gastric Ulcers.
    • Glycirin has potent PPAR ligand binding activity, enhances Insulin Sensitivity. Glabridin, decreases excess Oestrogen, and increases reduced Progesterone levels which is an important mechanism to treat PCOD.
    • Ricinoleic acid induces electrolyte secretion in the small intestine by reducing the absorption of fluid & stimulates intestinal peristalsis & thus exerts Laxative action.
    • Carpesterol, Campesterol increases Serum Estradiol content, which maintains Uterine weight and thus improves Fertility rate, and also relieves post-menopausal symptoms by promoting Estrogen levels
