Actions of Panchagavya Ghrita:

- Panchagavya ghrita induces ketosis due to the presence of fats in the form of cow’s ghee and various amino acids.
- Ketone bodies alter the blood-brain barrier properties giving access to the active principles of the Panchagavya Ghrita to enter the brain.
- Increases inhibitory Gamma amino butyric acid and thus increases the Epileptic threshold.
- Increases Serum Sodium and Calcium levels and decreases Serum Potassium levels, raise the Epileptic threshold and thus reduces the risk of Seizures.
- Beta Carotene in Butter,Caesin a protein Hydrosylate of Milk has antioxidant properties and possesses antiepileptic activity along with Vitamin A present in Ghee.
- Cowurine which contains purine derivatives is known to play a role in seizures.
- Inhibits Liver serum marker enzymes GPT, GOT, ACP and ALP.
