Vata Gajankusha Ras

Vatagajankusha Ras is an Ayurvedic Herbo-mineral formulation for the treatment of Vata vyadhi with Kapha predominance.

Especially more effective in Lower limb disorders, and disorders due to Nerve pathologies, involving Spinal cord.

Dosage: 1 tablet twice or thrice a day or as directed by the physician.

Indication: Urustambha, Ghridrasi, Vatavyadhi

Anupana: Madhu (Honey), Warm water.

Action:

• • • Vishamushti in Vatagajankusha Ras acts on anterior horn cells of the spinal cord, which may stimulate earlier regeneration of sciatic and peripheral nerves affected due to crush injuries.
    • Vatagajankusha Ras may promote the sprouting of more than one growth cone from each damaged axon leading to the regeneration of more distal axons.
    • This action of Axonal regeneration promotes  Nerve fibre density, especially the Sciatic and other peripheral nerves hence beneficial in sciatica.
    • Ginger in Vatagajankusha Ras suppresses prostaglandin production through inhibition of cyclo-oxygenase-1 and 2 helps in pain management.
    • Kajjali in Vatagajankush Ras has yogavahak properties thus enhances the target action of the drug.
    • In Vatagajankusha Ras, Pippali affects the augmentation of neurotransmitter synthesis, and reduction of neurotransmitter reuptake, and thus helpful in the management of pain sensation.
    • Shunti and Triphala in Vatagajankusha Ras will reduce oxidative stress, and thus relieves oxidative stress-induced nerve damage.
